Throwback Thursday #01

Narrow streets are not rare in Bangalore City, thanks to the motorbikes and cars parked on the side, streets of Bangalore become narrower; I wanted to cross to the other side when I saw a thin guy, maybe in his 30s driving his brand Hyundai i20 approached from my right, I stepped back to see a well-muscled auto driver zip-in from my left in front of the car, both didn’t have a way ahead.

The auto driver steered a bit to the right and signalled the car to pass by, that started to happen, he kept waving and waving for the car to move and at one point he closed the side-view mirror to give some teeny-weeny space for the car to scrape through. “Krrrrrkkk” came the noise, car side door scratched the foot stand of the auto.

Hand waving signal came again from the auto guy to the car driver, but this time it had a different meaning, to get out of the car. “You better pay up for the damage” said the auto guy and the car fellow did not know what to say or do and started scratching his head and his faced yelled out to say “How did I get into this?”

“It is your mistake that you could not drive your car carefully to get across my auto and now you have caused the damage, pay up else you shall face the consequences,” growled the auto guy, the car fellow staring at the dent on his car, got into deep thoughts for a minute.

The car owner said, “You closed my side-view mirror and blocked my view that handicapped me from driving by without scratching your auto, let’s go to the police station.”

The auto guy rolled up his sleeves and sped away.

Survival of the wisest, not the fittest!
